Each year I define a specific objective for 6 categories of my life I want to improve : Health, Money, Friends, Couple, Personal growth and Leisure. As it's the end of the year, it's time to reflect on these objectives and define the new ones.
Objective 2023 : Go to the Gym at least 2 times a week Score : 70%
This has been a breakthrough year for my physical shape. I finally subscribe to the gym and I even started to train for a triathlon ! My only regret is that I've only started in September, but since then I hit the gym at least 2x a week. Overall, I'm proud of the achievement. I'm gaining muscle and getting into shape like never before. I will keep going on next-year.
Objective 2024 : Go to sleep before 23:00 to maximise receovery (> 25 times / month)
Objective 2023 : Invest 500$ per week in an index fund Score : 100%
I started investing 3 years ago, aiming for financial independence in 2030. For the moment I'm on track with the objective, but I benefited from advantageous market conditions. My plan is to keep going on with this strategy for the next years. For the moment I don't see the need to adjust this strategy.
Objective 2024 : Invest at least 500$ per week in an index fund
Objective 2023 : To organise at least 5 dates with my wife. Score : 70%
After almost 15 years, I considerer my couple well balanced and strong, but with a new born this year, it was important to make sure to keep strong connection. That's why we took time together with a nice long week-end in the south of France and some fancy restaurants nights and a very cool monthly lunch outside. But I fell that I need to do more for the new year with more surprises and unexpected events.
Objective 2024 : Organise at least 4 surprise event without child (Week-ends, Restaurants, Theater,...)
Objective 2023 : Call at least one friend each month Score : 30%
Since I left a large city for a far and small town, i don't see my friends that much. If you add a newborn in the picture and you understand why I want to call my friends more often. I just don't want to lose them all. This year we have invited a lot of them, but it's not enough. I need to make sure I keep strong relationships and make new close friends.
Objective 2024 : See or call my top 12 friends this year (at least one per month)
Objective 2023 : Read at least 6 books Score : 50%
I spend most of my time reading things on internet (well, i also listen a lot of podcast and watch tones of videos on youtube) but I don't take enought time reading proper books. This year I read only 3 books : Outlive, Calorie doesn't count and The Triathlete Bible. I also started 3 others books but didn't finish them at the moment. Clearly it's not what I expected, and I will try to read more this year. Even if I won't make it my top objective for this year.
Objective 2024 : Write at least one blog post per month
Objective 2023 : Play at least 20 rounds of golf Score : 50%
Golf is my passion, a great hobby and something I want to develop for the future. But leaving house for 5 to 6 hours straight is too demanding when you have a newborn. Golf doesn't take too much time per se, but you can't divide it in little chunk. A golf is at least 3 to 4 hours (even a 9 hole). So it's too demanding on my life at the moment. I replaced golf by triathlon which is even more demanding, but I can train during my lunch break or after I dropped my child at the nursery. I can even train when he is sleeping thanks to the home trainer. It's just much more easy to fit in the agenda.
Objective 2024 : Cross the finish line of an half ironman (bonus : 5h30)
